You will need a certificate of good standing from your home state when filing a certificate of authority as a foreign LLC or foreign corporation in California. Here are some of the home state fees from states that businesses are commonly from:
- Arizona: $45
- Oregon: $10
- Nevada: $50
Domestic California LLCs cost $90 to file (a $70 state filing fee, plus a $20 Initial Statement of Information fee). California corporations cost $125 to file (a $100 state filing fee, plus a $25 Initial Statement fee). All domestic entities in California must have a California agent for service of process.
Filings for Domestic LLCs can be made online, by mail or by walking into the Secretary of State’s office.
